Gurudwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji Concepts
Miri-Piri
The concept of *Miri–Piri* was introduced by *Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji*,
The words Miri and Piri come from the *Persian language, where *Miri means *temporal or worldly power, and *Piri means *spiritual authority*.
Guru Ji wore *two swords* to symbolize the balance between these two powers — one for spiritual strength and one for worldly responsibility.
Miri represents the duty to protect righteousness and stand against injustice.
Piri represents devotion, meditation, and connection with Waheguru.
Guru Ji’s vision was not of war, but of *courage guided by compassion*.
Through Miri–Piri, he gave Sikhs a path to live with *faith, strength, and balance* in every aspect of life.

Sant Sipahi
The Sant-Sipahi (Saint-Soldier) concept was given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. He taught that every Sikh must live a life that combines spiritual devotion with bravery and justice. A Sant is one who connects deeply with Waheguru through prayer, meditation, and purity of heart, while a Sipahi is one who stands firm to protect righteousness, truth, and the weak. The Sant-Sipahi does not fight out of anger or greed but out of love for truth and humanity. Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s vision was to create individuals who balance humility with strength and compassion with courage. Through this divine philosophy, he transformed Sikhs into defenders of faith, freedom, and justice, guided always by the light of spirituality.
